The Greatest New Worship Songs of the 2010s

At a time when widespread hymnals and worship songbooks are ever much less widespread, and lots of up to date worship songs come and go as shortly as some other ephemeral cultural factor, it may appear silly or idealistic to contemplate which new songs (if any) will grow to be requirements. However as the last decade winds to an in depth, we will at the least have fun a number of the wonderful new worship songs which have blessed the church within the 2010s, even when we will’t predict which ones will nonetheless be sung within the 2020s, 2030s, and past.

The next 35 songs are my picks for the perfect new worship songs written and launched between 2010 and 2020. In compiling this record I centered on songs which can be each theologically sound and musically lovely; in addition to songs which can be straightforward to sing and, most often, already broadly sung in congregations around the globe. Some have been certifiable “hits” on the reward charts. Others are lesser recognized. All are songs I hope the church retains singing, and retains remembering, for years to return.

Should you aren’t aware of a few of these wonderful songs, you’ll be able to hearken to them on this TGC Spotify playlist or Apple Music playlist. Pastors and worship leaders: take into account including a few of these into your congregational-worship rotation. Could these songs—mixed with treasured classics from centuries previous, and yet-to-be-written songs to return—maintain main God’s folks to declare his praises, tuning our hearts to sing his grace.
