From them will come songs of thanksgiving and the sound of rejoicing. I’ll add to their numbers, and they won’t be decreased; I’ll convey them honor, and they won’t be disdained. Jeremiah 30.19

We have been barely hesitant as we drove to an economically lesser a part of a wierd nation. We have been there on mission to assist refugees who fled from their neighbouring homeland. They appreciated our work to assist them and one household invited us to their lower than modest small house for dinner with the household.

Their residence was impeccably clear, and so they so welcomed us. Whereas the husband was cooking over charcoal on a grill on the balcony, we visited with the spouse and two ever so well mannered teenage sons. As we ate, they advised us their story, how they fled their homeland on foot, every with a small little one in a single arm and a bag of belongings on the opposite. They left all the pieces, however they gained freedom in a brand new land. They exuded thankfulness for what that they had.

I listened with tears in my eyes, as I considered all I had again residence and considered what it will be like to depart all of it as a way to be free. I’ve a lot, and so they have so little, however that they had and have been grateful for that which mattered. Religion, household and freedom.

This week, all throughout America, households and teams will be part of to have fun Thanksgiving. It’s my most favourite vacation. No commercialism, no final minute buying.. simply household time collectively to cease and provides thanks.

As Christians we should always give thanks in all issues, and always to God the daddy by means of Christ Jesus. He has given us all we have now and saved us from our sin. Giving thanks is the least we will do.

Psalm 107:1 (NIV) –Give due to the LORD, for he’s good; his love endures without end.

1 Thessalonians 5:18 (NIV) Give thanks in all circumstances, for that is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

Colossians 4:2 (NIV) Dedicate yourselves to prayer, being watchful and grateful.

What’s going to you thank God for this Thanksgiving?
