Jailbreak https://chrisonet.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/proclaim-584x300.jpg

“The Spirit of the LORD is upon me, for He has anointed Me to bring Good News to the poor.  He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the oppressed will be set free, and that the time of the LORD’s favor has come.”  Luke 4.18-19

Jesus got here to set the captives free!

However most people Jesus got here involved with by no means even acknowledged they have been in religious bondage.  They have been so targeted on their Roman captivity, they uncared for to grasp who their actual captor was!

In Romans, Paul spells it out clearly  . . .  our captor is SIN.  Beforehand, you let yourselves be slaves to impurity and lawlessness, which led ever deeper into sin.   Romans 6.19

Captivity to sin is all we’d ever recognized.  The cage of sin was the place we resided and we had made a reasonably snug house there.  Our shackles of sin held us hostage however we didn’t really feel certain, in actual fact it was simply the other – we felt free.

Sin was our shackles, our bondage, our captivity.  However Jesus died to set us free!  He eliminated the chains that certain us and hemmed us in.  His love is our jailbreak!

It wasn’t till Jesus set us free that we realized our incarceration.  We understood our sin and invited Christ into our lives to free us from this bondage.  And He did!

So why will we preserve going again to the cage?  Why will we shackle ourselves with the guilt of our sin?  Why will we wrap the chains again round us and refuse to depart the jail?

We consider the lies that our sin is just too ugly for God to forgive.  We refuse to consider God has forgiven us as a result of we are able to’t forgive ourselves.  This jail cell is all we’ve ever recognized, it’s snug.  It’s “secure”.

If we’ve left the nation the place sin is sovereign, how can we nonetheless stay in our previous home there? Or didn’t you notice we packed up and left there for good?  . . .  We left the previous nation of sin behind . . . We entered into the brand new nation of grace—a brand new life in a brand new land!  Romans 6.1-2 (MSG)

God set you free!  There isn’t a want for penance – it has already been paid in full!  Your sin is roofed, washed away by the blood of God’s personal Son.  There may be nothing left to do however embrace this new way of life, this freedom.  Depart the cage and all its shackles behind and stroll into this new land of grace and hope!

Our jailbreak is NOW!
