“When you have seen me, you will have seen the Father.“ John 14:9
Dan’s earthly father had been chilly, distant, unloving and cruelly strict. Though by way of the years, Dan heard that his Heavenly Father was loving and had even mentally accepted that fact, when terminal sickness struck and demise inevitably loomed, he appeared afraid to “let go.”
The desire to stay is robust and bodily demise exists because the final symptom of Eden’s curse, however why do some face it with peace, even pleasure and anticipation? As a result of Dan had no earthly equal of a loving father, did God the Father appear “too big” for a private relationship, too distant for Dan’s—and our—scarred minds to see and perceive?
However Jesus stated, “When you have seen me, you will have seen the Father.” This Jesus whispered “Mary” to a guilt-stricken, broken-hearted lady. This Jesus invaded tradition to the touch a leper. This Jesus gathered ignored kids to his facet. This Jesus fell bloodied from whips and humiliated from curses. This Jesus—this God—is simply the precise measurement for our belief and love.
