Lifeway analysis reported in January that 66% of younger adults between 18 and 22 stopped attending church recurrently for at the very least a 12 months.
E3 companions is altering this by working with teenagers to coach them on spreading the Gospel and changing into Christian leaders.
Jeff Johnston from e3 says, “Ultimately, God can use anyone to spread His kingdom.”
He provides, “We think that, especially with kind of the numbers that we’re seeing, as far as people in the United States walking away from the faith, after… they graduate high school, we think that there’s an emphasis that needs to be placed on raising up strong Christian leaders at a young age.”
To do that, e3 works with church buildings to supply evangelism coaching, known as “four fields coaching“. This coaching works for these desirous to evangelize on a mission journey or in their very own neighborhood.
Teenagers Spreading the Gospel
Teenagers have many alternatives to unfold the Gospel of their every day lives, Johnston explains. They’ll ask to hope for others, begin Bible research teams, and share God’s Phrase with these round them.
“There can be this misconception that you really can’t start evangelizing, you really can’t start making a big impact for the kingdom, until you’ve gotten out of youth group and gotten into the real world,” Johnston says.
However e3 desires to present teenagers the prospect to not simply hearken to church sermons however take part in discipling others.
Johnston says, “We want to give [teens] every opportunity to grow in their faith and grow in their boldness and their confidence in Christ.”
For teenagers at a church in Oklahoma, spreading the Gospel turned a calling after attending a mission journey.
“They began discovering alternatives at their colleges, to share the gospel with folks, to hope with folks, to actually simply get into these relationships with folks and assist level them to Jesus,” Johnston says.
One woman, Allie, has already reached 70 folks with the Gospel in her neighborhood.
Johnston provides, “She prays every morning for God to lead her to the people whose hearts are open and ready to receive the gospel that day.”
“It was incredible to hear her talk about that,” he says.
It’s also possible to pray. Pray for the work e3 does as they practice teenagers and younger adults to grow to be mature Christians. Pray for these spreading the Gospel world wide and in their very own communities.
Johnston says, “If there does happen to be any students that hear this, that are feeling called… I would encourage them to ask their pastors at their church about it, or to pray about it.”
He provides, “Contact us and we’ll see how we may also help you with no matter you’re feeling known as to do.”
